Building Brighter Futures for children at NVFS
"When you show up for a child, you make a lasting impression."
Out Teach partnered with PNC Bank to bring new life to the outdoor space at the Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) Early Childhood Development Center in Ashburn, VA. The day was alive with energy, teamwork, and a shared passion for building a brighter future for children in the community.
Slated to open next spring, the NVFS Child Development Center will serve over 70 children and their families, offering two full-day programs: Head Start and Early Head Start. Thanks to the hard work of more than 75 volunteers, the center’s outdoor learning lab will feature built weather stations, plant beds, outdoor kitchens, and animal habitats; creating a space designed to spark curiosity and a love for learning.
Stephanie Berkowitz, CEO of NVFS, summed up the heart of the day beautifully: "When you show up for a child, you make a lasting impression. You have shown up for hundreds of children in this community today, and you have made an incredible difference."
Her words were a powerful reminder that it truly takes a village to nurture and inspire the next generation. This outdoor learning lab, made possible by PNC Bank’s generous support and the hard work of volunteers, stands as a promise to the children of Ashburn: their dreams matter, and their potential is limitless.
